IN DEPTH
Intrada Technologies was honored to be the Technology Sponsor for the second annual Pennsylvania State Finals of the National Civics Bee, held at Penn State University’s HUB-Robeson Center. This prestigious event, hosted by the PA Chamber Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Chamber Foundation and regional chambers of commerce, brought together 24 exceptional middle school students from across the state to celebrate civic engagement and innovative community solutions.
The Pennsylvania State Finals culminated in an inspiring victory for Millicent Godoy of Hershey Middle School, who won first place and will represent Pennsylvania in Washington, D.C., at the National Civics Bee to compete for a $100,000 scholarship. This remarkable achievement highlights the power of fostering a new generation of informed and engaged leaders through initiatives like the Civics Bee.
At Intrada Technologies, we take pride in playing a role in such influential events. Providing technology support for the Civics Bee reflects our commitment to advancing education and empowering young minds. Events like these highlight the critical importance of reversing the decline in civics knowledge and cultivating civility and leadership skills in future generations.
During the competition, students participated in two rounds of civics-based quiz questions, followed by a thought-provoking final round in which the top five participants presented original essays outlining their ideas for improving their communities. Millicent’s insightful essay and poised defense earned her the top spot, with Cooper Palma and Mihir Pilgaonkar securing second and third places, respectively.
Intrada Technologies joins the PA Chamber Foundation and our fellow sponsors in congratulating Millicent and all the participants who showcased exceptional knowledge, passion, and a commitment to making a difference. We extend special thanks to Penn State University for hosting the event and the educators and families who inspire these students to lead with integrity and purpose.
Intrada is deeply invested in the future of our communities, and supporting civics education builds a foundation for brighter, more engaged leadership tomorrow. We look forward to cheering on Millicent as she represents Pennsylvania on the national stage. Congratulations to all for a job well done!
Together, we’re building a more civically engaged and hopeful future for our Commonwealth and beyond.
